BIOGRAPHY
Eriko Oi is a Japanese flutist based in Leipzig/ Germany , who plays from historical to modern flute.
She appeared as a soloist with the Gellert Ensemble at the MDR Music Summer, with the Kanagawa Symphony Orchestra and with the Leipziger Lehrer Orchestra at the Gewandhaus. She won several competitions, including the 34th International Competition for Early Music Yamanashi and the 28th Kanagawa Music Competition. She collaborates regularly with the Gaechinger Cantorey, the Mendelssohn Chamber Orchestra, the Gellert Ensemble, the Leipzig Philharmonic and Sinfonia Leipzig. In this context she also took part in numerous CD productions.
She completed her studies on modern flute with Prof. Ayako Takagi at the Tokyo University of the Arts and with Prof. Irmela Boßler at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Leipzig. On historical flute she graduated with Anne Freitag at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Leipzig and with Lisa Beznosiuk at the Royal Academy of Music London.
